The Woodfast PT410A is a heavy-duty planer thicknesser built for serious woodworkers and busy trade workshops. Its 410 mm cutting width and 70 mm helical cutter head with 72 four-sided carbide knives deliver a quieter operation, a superior finish, and significantly longer knife life compared to traditional straight blades.

Switching between jointing and thicknessing is effortless thanks to the single-handed table lift that requires no fence removal, while the extra-large aluminium extruded fence with centred controls and cam locking ensures quick, accurate adjustments. The extended 1,659 mm jointer table and the included thicknesser outfeed extension provide ample support for long, heavy boards.

Materials & care

Keep the cast-iron tables clean and waxed to prevent rust and ensure smooth material feeding. Regularly inspect and rotate or replace the carbide knives as needed to maintain cut quality. Clean the dust chute and surrounding areas after use to prevent buildup. Store the machine in a dry environment.

How to use

Ensure the machine is securely positioned and connected to an appropriate power supply and dust extraction system. For jointing, set the infeed table depth and pass timber over the cutter head with the fence guiding the face or edge. To switch to thicknessing mode, use the single-handed table lift to raise the table without removing the fence, then feed stock through the thicknesser bed. Always wear appropriate safety gear and follow the manufacturer's operating manual.
