The Orma FVM press shapes heated Corian and solid surface sheets using vacuum and a flexible membrane over a jig, delivering precise, repeatable curves for sinks, countertops, and architectural elements. It handles workpieces up to 500 mm in height, with optional box-shaped silicone membranes available for forming heights of 900 mm or 1200 mm.

Designed to pair with the Orma FRA heating kiln, the FVM accepts material brought to forming temperature and cools it under vacuum to lock in the desired shape. An optional sublimation kit can be added to transfer images directly onto the workpiece during the forming cycle.

Compatibility

Designed to pair with the Orma FRA heating kiln for a complete Corian and solid surface forming workflow. Compatible with standard solid surface composite sheets and MDF or plywood jigs.

How to use

Heat the solid surface sheet in the Orma FRA kiln until it reaches the required forming temperature. Transfer the heated sheet onto the MDF or plywood jig positioned on the FVM press bed. Lower the membrane, activate the vacuum, and allow the material to cool while held against the jig to retain its formed shape.

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum workpiece height the FVM press can form?

The standard FVM press handles workpieces up to 500 mm in height. With optional box-shaped silicone membranes, it can form pieces up to 900 mm or 1200 mm.

Does the FVM press require a separate heating oven?

Yes, the FVM is a cold vacuum forming press designed to work with the Orma FRA heating kiln. The FRA heats Corian and solid surface sheets to the required temperature before they are transferred to the FVM for shaping.

What materials can be formed with this press?

The FVM press is built for Corian and other solid surface composite sheets. It uses a jig made of MDF or plywood along with vacuum and membrane action to shape the heated material.

Can images be applied to the workpiece during forming?

Yes, an optional sublimation kit can be added to the FVM press, allowing the transfer of images directly onto the workpiece during the forming process.
